French Connection

The Classic Buskers offer a French-inspired programme to include rarities by Claude-Achille Debussy (1862 – 1912) such as the Prélude à l’après-midi d’un accordéon and the (très) Petite Suite by the great Debussy himself, Ravel’s Pavane and Boléro and works by Bizet, Offenbach and Herold. Daquin, Rameau and Lully will represent the French Baroque, and Arbeau and Jannequin the Renaissance, all played on Michael’s enormous selection of woodwind accompanied by that most Gallic of instruments, the piano accordion.
